Promote the Best of French Culture
The Alliance has long been recognized for offering traditional French music, theater and dance, and more recently has established itself as an important American venue for contemporary francophone art forms and emerging artists. Whether with lectures and book signings by speakers and authors from the francophone world, cutting-edge performing arts events or convivial wine and cheese parties, artistic excellence defines the Alliance's cultural program.
Each year, more than 5,000 attendees are drawn by over 100 events, discovering francophone cultures in a friendly and authentic ambience.
The Cultural Fund enables the Alliance to welcome leading artists to Washington and cover professional expenses, housing and travel, while keeping performances affordable for members and the general public. It also allows us to:
You Can Help Make These Programs Possible:
$50 : A Contribution to Le Club de Conversation
What? Practice French with native French-speakers in an informal, affordable and convivial way
Allows us to: Keep this event free to all Alliance Française members and organize one Club de Conversation each month (10 per year)
Yearly Goal: 50 Donors or $2,500
$100 : A Contribution to the Cinéma
Programs
What? Programs showcasing recent francophone films that are not available on the American market
Allow us to: Cover the screening rights and invite at least two filmmakers or famous actors each year
Yearly Goal: 100 donors or $10,000
$250: A Contribution to the Alliance Performing Arts Programs
What? Invite the new generation of French dancers, singers and actors to perform for the first time in Washington, DC
Allow us to: Cover the artistic and visa fees, international travel, and artist accomodations, as well as the production and logistics expenses for three blockbuster events every year

To make a restricted or unrestricted donation of another amount please download the PDF contribution form. You can either fill it out electronically and send it as an attachement to development@francedc.org or, you can print it out and mail it to Alliance Française de Washington, 2142 Wyoming Avenue, NW- Washington, DC 20008.
Please note that the amount of your contribution is deductible as a charitable contribution for federal income tax purposes. Please consult your tax adviser.
Your company may be able to match your gift!
Many organizations have adopted the “Employee Matching Gift” program and match donations made by their employees. So please, do not miss the opportunity to double or triple the impact of your generosity and inquire with your human resources department or benefits office to find out if they are part of the program. If so, please request a matching gift form from your employer and send it completed and signed with your gift. We will take care of the rest!
