The Alliance Française Library: A true resource for francophiles!

The Alliance Française has one the Washington area's largest lending-to-all collections of French books, periodicals, DVDs and CDs. These are selected to reflect the Francophone culture of yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

The library serves all -- students and non-students, native speakers and learners, children, teenagers, and adults. In 2009, more than 13,300 library items were checked out.

The Library Fund enables us to respond to an increasing demand by:

• Employing additional staff to serve library users, as well as offering opportunities for professional training;
• Expanding our collections of books, comic strips, DVDs, CDs and periodicals; and
• Purchasing technical equipment for self instruction and on-site use of audio-visual documents.

Your company may be able to match your gift! Many organizations have adopted the “Employee Matching Gift” program and match donations made by their employees. So please, do not miss the opportunity to double or triple the impact of your generosity and inquire with your human resources department or benefits office to find out if they are part of the program. If so, please request a matching gift form from your employer and send it completed and signed with your gift. We will take care of the rest!
