TEF Certificate

The TEF (Test d'Evaluation de Français) is a certificate delivered by the Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie de Paris which is recognized by business firms and educational institutions. It is the best and fastest way to assess the level in French language of non native speakers.

Why Take The TEF?

  • To assess your comprehension and communication skills in French and to know your own performance.
  • After you have taken the tests, The Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie de Paris promptly delivers a certificate valid for a year (results are communicated by email 3 days after reception of the tests in Paris by the CCIP. Certificate is mailed whithin 2 weeks).

Who Should Take The Tests?

  • Everybody willing to assess their level in French.
  • Students of the Alliance Française, at any level, who wish to assess their skills before or after a session of classes.
  • Students who are seeking admission in Grandes Ecoles or French speaking universities, or for employment. TEF is officially recognized by the French Ministry of Education and translates into college credits.
  • Employees, for employment or promotion.
  • Migrants to Canada: Citizenship and Immigration Canada strongly recommends that migrants applying as "Skilled Workers" take the TEF as a proof of their French language skills. Citizenship and Immigration Canada: Official Language Testing
