The mission of the Alliance Française de Washington, DC is to promote the French language teaching and learning, and to foster cultural dialogue and diversity for the advancement of lifelong learning in a multicultural society. The AFDC is 100% self-financed and receives no government funding. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, most of our programs could not exist without the support of our members and donors.

- Initiate a Stock Transfer:
Gifts of stock and bonds are one of the most advantageous ways of giving. In the form of Incentive Stock Options or regular investment holdings, you may deduct the full fair market value of the stock as a charitable contribution, while bypassing all capital gains taxes (to qualify you must own your stock for more than one year). Securities may be donated by transferring them directly into the Alliance Francaise account at PNC Bank.
To initiate a stock transfer:
1. Please notify our development office (202-234-7911X833 or development@francedc.org) in advance of stock transfers so that we can instruct our broker to accept delivery of your gift and acknowledge it properly for income tax purposes.
2. When you are ready, please inform your broker that you would like to make a stock gift to the Alliance Française de Washington. Please provide your broker with the following information:
