Alliance Française de Washington | French Language & Cultural Center

French and Francophone Literature

Our library has a collection of several thousands of fiction and non-fiction books. Our goal is to give you access to francophone culture through its classic novels, poetry and plays, as well as more recent works of French authors and authors from other countries who write in French. In addition to the popular Astérix and Tintin, we are proud of our 400+ collection of bandes dessinées for children and adults.

The non-fiction collection reflects French history, literature and society. We also have an increasing collection of books for children: waterproof books for toddlers, imagiers, albums for all ages, and novels.
