Bébés / Ages 1-2 / 1 hour per week

A gentle introduction to the French-speaking world, children engage in playful activities through songs, dance, stories, games, and more. Toddlers are immersed in a French environment.

Bébés / Ages 2-3 / 1 hour per week

A gentle introduction to the French-speaking world, children engage in playful activities through songs, dance, stories, games, and more. Toddlers are immersed in a French environment. Children start to repeat some works and expressions.

Pitchouns / Ages 3-5 / 1 hour per week

Children learn new words and language structures, using them in fun, age-appropriate activities like arts and crafts, songs, dance, games, and stories. 

Gamins & Gamines / Ages 5-6 / 1.5 hours per week

Children will participate in crafts, stories, songs, music, and imaginative tales. These activities will stimulate their intellectual, motor and artistic skills. (Reserved for non-francophones)

French as a Foreign Language

Zoom (level 1) Cap Sur... 1 Imagine 1

Zoom / Ages 6-8 / 1.5 hour per week

This course is specially designed for young readers who are learning French as a foreign language. Zoom, the mascot introduces them to a new, yet familiar environment through pictures and sounds.

Cap sur... / Ages 8-10 / 1.5 hour per week

This beginner language course follows the Cousteau family all around the world. Children will learn French along with this family, and get cultural insights through la Francophonie.

Club @dos - Imagine / Ages 10-13 / 1.5 hour per week

Beginner and intermediate French students of French will learn the language through geography, math, biology and sports. In each chapter, children explore a different topic based on a teenager’s tastes and hobbies.

A La Une / Ages 13-18 / 2 hours per week

With A la une, teenagers learn French for beginner and intermediate levels through a series of emails, invitations, text messages, and conversations from 8 French teens.

A course for francophone children enrolled in the American education system who want to learn to read in French.

This class is designed to cover the Cycle 3 of the French Education System over the course of three years. They will focus on conjugation, grammar and spelling. They will also work on an end-of-session project. 

Les Ados / Ages 12-15 / 2 hour per week

This class is designed to cover the Cycle 4 of the French Education System over the course of three years. They will focus on conjugation, grammar and spelling. They will also work on an end-of-session project. 

Summer Courses

AFDC summer programs welcome teens, ages 12 to 18, for intensive French Learning.

Complete Beginners

Did you know that French is the second most influential language in the world, and that it is spoken on every continent? The Francophone world is at your reach with this course designed for learners who need to acquire and build upon the basics of French grammar, vocabulary and culture.

We offer Complete Beginners Part 1, 2 and 3. 25 hours of instruction for each part over 2 weeks each (Your teen can complete a level in 6 weeks!) Hands-on workshop included on the last Friday of each session. If your child already studied French, please set up a placement test. Part 1 does not require a placement test.

French Review – Levels 1, 2 and 3

Boost your French skills to be ready for the next Middle or High School level. Placement test required! 30 hours of instruction over 2-week. Hands-on workshop included on the last Friday of each session.

French AP Preview

Gain new perspectives on contemporary Francophone cultures and societies. This thematic interdisciplinary study is tailored to the needs of prospective AP students. Placement test at French 4 is required. 30 hours of instruction over 2 weeks. Hands-on workshop included on the last Friday of each session.
