Following official information received yesterday pertaining to the Plan Vigipirate, applicable to all governmental and non-governmental institutions with a link to France, the  Alliance Francaise of Washington DC reserves the right to ask first-time visitors for their government-issue ID when they enter the building.

“Art is not what you see but what you make others see” (Edgar Degas) and the Alliance Française of Washington DC invites you to experience the arts “sous toutes ses coutures” (in all shapes and forms) by hosting stage readings, talks, screenings, taking you to on a museum tour, and more.  Whether it be the performing arts, such as ballet or theatre, or the visual arts, the Alliance Française invites you to discover French artistic treasures, understand what is a “pas chassé” or an “arabesque” and marvel at the influence of France on American art. The Alliance Française is waiting for you to “see”.
